Slab Leak Detection in Tulsa
Expert Slab Leak Detection and Service for the Greater Tulsa Area
In Oklahoma, the majority of homes are built on concrete slab foundations due to the unpredictable nature of the state’s land. However, slab foundations cannot eliminate disasters, and certain issues can be quite difficult to fix because they can be hard to reach. Slab foundations can shift, crack, and move, and these issues can lead to slab leaks, which can be a major issue.
When the water pipes under your home are leaking water, you have a slab leak. These leaks occur under the foundation or concrete slab that your home is built on.
Slab leaks can be disastrous. Concrete slabs have water, gas, and electric lines traveling to the house from the ground. Our specially trained technicians have the technology needed to locate and eventually fix the leak without damaging any other parts of the slab or plumbing. At LEE Plumbing, our teams have a combined 75 years of experience, and they use proven old-school techniques with new-school methods and practices.
Where Does Plumbing Go in a Slab?
Once a slab foundation is poured, our plumbers don’t have access to anything below the concrete. Preliminary plumbing takes place before the foundation is set, and the slab is poured around the plumbing lines. Slab foundations are often used in warm climates and are also beneficial for constructing patio-type homes that do not feature basements. Our plumbers get to work before a single brick is laid.
What Are the Signs of a Slab Leak?
Slab leaks aren’t always noticeable right away and can cause damage over a period of time. However, there are signs that the slab of your home is leaking and in need of serious attention. Your water bill can fluctuate during the year, especially in the summer months with watering your lawn or kids playing in the sprinkler, but if your bill starts to rise and it doesn’t go back down it’s time to check for leaks.
These leaks can do damage to your floors and walls, and the warning signs are warm spots on the floor, discoloration of hardwood floors, and bad odors coming from the walls. Plus, if you see that there is a noticeable shift in the dirt around you, it could mean you have a slab leak.
Here are signs of a slab leak:
- Increased water bill?
- Do you hear running water?
- Is there a noticeable shift in the dirt around your home?
- Do you have warm spots on the floor?
- Discoloration of your hardwood floors?
- Bad odors coming from floors or walls?

Speak With a Professional
No matter when you call, you can speak with one of Tulsa’s best plumbers on call in 30 minutes or less. Slab homes are often built in warm climates, and Oklahoma’s unpredictable weather can be extremely hot and extremely cold in the same 24-hour period. At LEE, we can install the plumbing before the slab is placed, and we can repair and even repipe the slab if an emergency occurs.
Slab Installation
Before pouring a slab, the plumbing build starts with a “concrete slab plumbing rough in.” A “rough in” is the placement of pipes prior to the foundation’s construction. We are also present when the concrete is poured to ensure no pipe or vent is moved out of place.
Slab Repair
Oftentimes, slab leaks can be an easy fix, but others are more complex and require a team of plumbers to fix the leak issues. However, most slab leaks are repairable and the foundation can be easily repaired as well.
Repiping
When it’s time to replace or repipe the plumbing in your slab home, the supply pipes in the slab should be replaced, at the very least. Water supply pipes deliver potable (drinkable) water to faucets and appliances in your home. Over time, pipes can break down and become rusty or degraded to the point of replacement. Repiping generally refers to replacing or rerouting water supply lines, not the sewer line.
